A ruling party lawmaker who visited Russia in May as President Moon Jae-in’s special envoy has been appointed to lead a newly created presidential committee tasked to discuss economic cooperation with China, Russia and possibly North Korea. Cheong Wa Dae said Friday Moon has appointed Rep. Song Young-gil of the Democratic Party of Korea as head of the Northern Economic Cooperation Committee.
